Delete your Collie account and data
This page explains how to request deletion of your account in Collie, the pet care app published by Collie, and exactly what is deleted or kept when you do.
Option 1: delete your account inside the app
This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.
- 1Open Collie and sign in.
- 2Open the You tab.
- 3Tap Settings.
- 4Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- 5Read the confirmation screens. Collie tells you what will happen to your home and your pets before anything is deleted.
- 6Confirm. Your account is deleted right away and you are signed out.
Option 2: request deletion by email
If you no longer have access to the app or to your device, email support@collie.care from the email address on your Collie account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We verify that the request comes from the account holder and complete the deletion within 30 days, usually much sooner.
What is deleted
The following is permanently deleted as soon as the request is processed:
- Your profile: name, email address, profile photo, timezone and notification preferences.
- Your sign-in credentials, including the authentication record that lets you log in. If you used Sign in with Apple, we also revoke Collie's access token with Apple.
- Your personal pets and their tasks, together with every schedule, reminder and completion record attached to them.
- Your home, if you are its admin. The home is deleted along with all of its shared pets, tasks, schedules, reminders, completion history and any sitter invitations. Other people in that home keep their own accounts, but they lose access to the shared pets and tasks.
- Push notification tokens registered for your devices.
What is kept, and for how long
- Shared history in a home you did not own. If you were a member of someone else's home rather than its admin, that home keeps working for the other people in it. Records of tasks you completed there stay in the home's history, but they are unlinked from you: your name, your email and your account are removed from them. They are kept for as long as that home exists, because deleting them would erase the other members' record of their own pets' care.
- Photo files. Photos you uploaded (pet photos, your profile photo, and photos attached to sitter updates) are stored separately from your account record. Ask us to remove them by emailing support@collie.care and we will delete them within 30 days.
- Encrypted backups. Residual copies of deleted data can persist in our provider's encrypted database backups for up to 30 days, after which they are overwritten automatically. These backups are used only to restore service after a failure.
- Records we are legally required to keep, such as records we must keep to comply with a legal obligation or to resolve a dispute. These are kept only for as long as the applicable law requires and are not used for any other purpose.
Deleting some data without closing your account
You do not have to delete your account to remove data from Collie:
- Delete any task from the task screen, which also removes its schedule and history.
- Archive a pet from the pet screen to remove it from daily care without losing its record, or ask us to delete it outright.
- Remove your profile photo or a pet photo by replacing or clearing it in the app.
- Leave a home from the Home tab, which ends your access to its shared pets and tasks.
For anything else, email support@collie.care describing what you want removed. We respond within 30 days.
